Ryan Gander’s complex and unfettered conceptual practice is stimulated by queries, investigations or what-ifs, rather than strict rules or limits. His collaboration considered how conceptual art has expanded with the development of media. Students learned about changes in the art scene from the 1960’s (when John Baldessari became active in contemporary art) up to the current time. Students wrote a report about artistic influence on Gander’s work, specifically “How to work better (1991), by Peter Fischli and David Weiss” and Institutional Critique. Reports were exhibited along with work by Ryan Gander.
We wish to thank Ryan Gander for kindly agreeing to this exhibition and the cooperation of Taro Nasu Gallery.
